Dr. Heiss was trained as a specialist in the Dr. Rinecker Clinic and in the Department of General and Trauma Surgery at the Schwabing Clinic (specialist examination in 1995).

Since then she has been working in the Department of General and Visceral Surgery at Klinikum Schwabing under the direction of Prof. Helmut Waldner.

In 2006 she acquired the additional title of proctology and in 2010 the specialization title of visceral surgery.

She is head of the proctology section in the Department of General and Visceral Surgery at Klinikum Schwabing and has worked regularly in other proctology practices in Munich since 2004.

She is a member of the Professional Association of Coloproctologists and the German Society for Coloproctology.
